Aluminium roller shutters on a residential facade

Roller shutters · aluminium shutters

Aluminium roller shutters: top-mounted, surface-mounted, concealed

Aluminium roller shutters for new buildings, window replacement and renovation, and aluminium shutters for windows and doors.

Three roller shutter systems

Top-mounted

The box sits above the window and is installed with it. The usual choice for new buildings and for window replacement.

Surface-mounted

A box bevelled at 45 degrees, fixed on the facade or on the outer frame. Designed for existing windows, with no building work.

Concealed (plaster-in)

The box is hidden in the facade insulation layer, for a clean elevation and no visible housing.

How they are built

  • Aluminium slats filled with polyurethane foam.
  • Manual operation or an electric motor with remote control.
  • In some systems, insect screens can be integrated with the roller shutter.
  • Produced to the size of each opening.

Frequently asked questions

Which roller shutter system suits window replacement?

If the windows are being replaced, a top-mounted system is installed together with them. If the windows stay, surface-mounted roller shutters are fixed on the facade or frame without building work.

Can roller shutters be motorised?

Yes. They can be operated manually or by an electric motor with remote control; say which you need in the request.

Are the slats insulated?

Yes. The aluminium slats are filled with polyurethane foam.

Can insect screens be combined with roller shutters?

For some systems, yes: an integrated or compatible insect screen saves space. Mention it in the request.

What is the difference between roller shutters and aluminium shutters?

Roller shutters roll into a box above the window. Aluminium shutters are hinged or sliding panels with closed, fixed or adjustable slats, mounted beside the opening.
